SHELBYVILLE, TENN., (September 16, 2011)– Big G Express, Inc was awarded Carrier of the Year by Continental Mills in recognition of its excellent customer service, on-time deliveries and timely load status reports. In addition to a handsome plaque for display, the award included a $1,000 charitable donation given in Big G’s name to the Shelbyville/Bedford County Senior Citizen Center. This was the first Carrier of the Year competition hosted by Continental Mills as a way to reward carriers who offer the best possible service and value to Continental Mills and its customers. Each primary Continental Mills shipping location (Hopkinsville, Ky., Tukwila/Kent, Wash., and Pendleton, Ore.) scored the top 10 carriers by load handling outbound shipments from their locations. Carriers were ranked based on their on-time delivery, tender acceptance ratio, events ratio, timely load status updates, relative pricing ratio and a qualitative survey completed by select Continental Mills personnel. Big G has long been recognized as a leader in safety, technology and efficiency.
